Conveyancing

Traditionally, in Dubai, conveyancing has been overlooked as a way of facilitating a transaction. Buyers and Sellers preferred to let the agents conduct the transfer.

Over the past year the Lands Department are now registering every property and some buyers and sellers have started using conveyancers or legal firms to oversee the transaction.

Although this is not entirely necessary there are occasions where we would strongly advise our clients to add an extra layer of protection and use a third party.

With years of experience in Dubai we have come across good and bad legal representatives. If this  is a route you would like to go down then we would be pleased to advise accordingly.

Power of Attorney

Giving Power of Attorney is something that should be carefully considered. A client who gives power of attorney to an agent or ‘friend’ should consider all the implications first. We have seen many occasions where the power of attorney has not acted in the clients best interest and we urge all users of this service to choose carefully.

You can arrange power of attorney for a representative in Dubai who will then be able to act for you in every way. He can sign and transfer the property and collect monies on your behalf.

PoA can be arranged in your homeland or at the Dubai Courts. It is a simple process if arranged in Dubai  but if it is arranged abroad then you must ensure it is stamped by the relevant authorities before it will be deemed legal. E&T can advise on this process and are willing to act as power of attorney for their clients.
